These Jello Cookies came from my aunt – my mom’s sister. I don’t know how old I was when we got this recipe, but I always remember making them every year. Now we bake them with my kids.
They always add a nice splash of color to the cookie platter. We sometimes make both red and green!

Jello Cookies
Ingredients
- 4 C flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 1/2 C butter
- 1 C sugar
- 1 3oz package of Jello – any flavor
- 1 egg
- 1 t vanilla
Directions
- Cream softened butter gradually
- Add sugar and jello – mix well
- Add baking powder
- Add egg and vanilla – mix well
- Gradually add flour mixing well after each addition until smooth
- Make dough balls and press them criss-cross with a fork
- Sprinkle with colored sugar
- Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes until golden brown on edges
