ProMusica Minnesota will present the second concert of their tenth anniversary season, Iberian Fire, Romantic Soul, on Sunday, November 15 at 3pm in Chapel of the Christ on the campus of Martin Luther College. Throughout the past decade, ProMusica has produced over fifty chamber music concerts, bringing renowned artists and the utmost artistic excellence to Southern Minnesota and beyond. “Chamber music is best made with friends, performed for friends” is an oft revisited mantra of founder Bethel Balge, and the warm camaraderie with expert collaboration can be felt throughout ProMusica’s offerings.
The concert features an outstanding roster of performers: Bethel Balge, piano; Susie Park, violin; and Silver Ainomäe, cello. Bethel, Susie, and Silver are ProMusica favorites, having performed on multiple concerts over the years. The three bring the intimacy of good friends to their collaboration, inviting the audience into the music. Susie and Silver are leading members of Minnesota Orchestra, and Bethel’s dynamic piano skills are an integral part of the music scene in Minnesota. “We are thrilled to join forces with Susie Park and Silver Ainomäe for a breathtaking journey through chamber music’s finest colors,” says Bethel Balge, Artistic Director. “From the vibrant passion of Falla to the raw intimacy of Ravel and the sweeping romanticism of Brahms, this program brings extraordinary virtuosic dialog to our stage.”
Featured works of Iberian Fire, Romantic Soul include:
- Manuel de Falla: Suite Populaire Espagnole
- Maurice Ravel: Sonata for Violin and Cello, M. 73
- Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8
