I have this vision of a perfect world, waking up with the rising sun, sipping on the best cup of coffee while I journal or meditate before enjoying my daily yoga practice.
Another fantasy is living in New York City and bustling down the crowded streets in my fashionable yoga outfit with my mat strapped to my yogi backpack, while I hustle to make it to the yoga studio on time.
One more… I’m extremely well organized, my appointment calendar is utilized correctly with all my events printed in the given time slot. Like: Yoga at 7 am, A Million Cups at 8:30 am, Coffee at the Hag at 10 am, Writing session at 11 am.
“Though Mankato isn’t bustling like New York City, I can still put on my favorite yoga pants, carry my green yoga mat, and make my way to Sun Moon Yoga this weekend.”
But back to reality. My one-year-old daughter is my alarm clock and the only appointments I write down are for Kato Music Lessons, gigs, kid stuff, doctor appointments… OK, maybe I am somewhat organized. Sadly, however, I have not practiced yoga since a hot yoga session I spontaneously decided to try while working in Minneapolis over three weeks ago. My conscience and tension are teaming up to get me back into the groove of a daily yoga routine.
I Google searched Sun Moon Yoga and as luck would have it, there is a Acroyoga Basics for Yoga Teachers and Students workshop happening this weekend! The workshop is a two day series with Part One happening on Friday, and Part Two on Saturday, all for $75!
The promo states, “Communication, trust, inclusiveness are foundations of the yoga practice. Learn and practice these essential life-yoga-world citizen skills through gravity defying acro fun. This is the Universe literally giving me an opportunity to dive back in, learn something new, and have some fun while doing yoga! There is no denying that I always, one hundred percent, feel so much better after my practice.
Though Mankato isn’t bustling like New York City, I can still put on my favorite yoga pants, carry my green yoga mat, and make my way to Sun Moon Yoga this weekend.
Namaste, from your Yogi in training.
