MANKATO — Twin Rivers Council for the Arts invites the public to attend Best in Art v6.26 on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Shared Spaces at Emy Frentz, 523 S. Second Street in Mankato.
Three artists will showcase their work as they compete for two honors: the $500 People’s Choice Award and the $500 Juror’s Choice Award. An artist may be selected to receive either award—or both. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists, view their work and cast their vote for the People’s Choice winner.
Featured artists for this installment include:
- Rebekah Ebel, Painter — Inspired by travel, relationships, and the landscapes she encounters along the way, Ebel’s work explores themes of love, nature, community, communication, loneliness and nostalgia. Her colorful paintings range from landscapes and abstract works to scenes that celebrate human connection.
- Aaron Geringer, Ceramicist — Based in St. Peter, Geringer balances his work as a mental health therapist with a growing ceramics practice. His work includes wheel-thrown vessels and botanical printmaking, using specimens from his garden and neighborhood to explore texture, form and the natural world.
- Jerad Harder, Painter — A physical education teacher in Le Sueur, Harder began creating paintings as gifts for graduating students at his school. What started as simple painted crosses has evolved into a vibrant artistic practice that combines storytelling, creativity and community impact.
“The Best in Art Series gives artists a platform to share their work while providing meaningful support for their creative growth,” said Kaaren Grabianowski, Executive Director of Twin Rivers. “It’s an opportunity for the public to connect directly with artists, learn about their creative journeys and play a role in recognizing outstanding work.”
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, meet the artists and participate in selecting the People’s Choice Award recipient.
