Saint Peter – More than 150 works of art by creatives from throughout the region comprise The Member Show: New work by Members of the Arts Center of Saint Peter, on display August 7- September 26 with an opening reception Saturday, August 8, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
“It’s a mix of new art by seasoned professionals and pieces by members who don’t call themselves ‘artists’ except for this one occasion every year when they put a piece in the Member Show,” said Arts Center Executive Director Ann Fee. Most of the work is for sale, with 70 percent going directly to the artist, and 30 percent supporting Arts Center programs.
Concurrently, the Arts Center’s Minnesota Avenue window gallery features Proliferation, new site-specific installation by Shelley Caldwell, a Delavan-based artist whose work combines mixed media drawing with subjects from nature and daily life.
A free public reception celebrating the exhibitions will take place on Saturday, August 8, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., with light refreshments and brief remarks by Caldwell and Arts Center Gallerist ARK.
The Arts Center’s galleries are free, wheelchair-accessible, and open to the public five days per week: Wednesdays-Fridays 1:00-5:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:00-5:00 p.m.
