MANKATO – The last Fix-It Clinic for 2026 will be hosted at Mankato Makerspace, 1700 3rd Avenue, from 1-4 PM on Saturday, October 17th.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who have made every clinic happen in this inaugural year!

Have a broken toaster, torn jacket, or glitchy lamp? Don’t toss it — bring it to the free Fix-It Clinic! You will get help from volunteers who can assist with repairs and hands-on DIY skills.

Residents are welcome to bring up to two items from home that need repair.

No pre-registration required.

What to expect:

  • Items should be carry-in size for hands-on repair.
  • First-come, first-served. Limit 2 items per household.
  • Items accepted until 30 minutes before the event ends.

What to bring:

  • Any repair or replacement items that might assist in repairing the item. A quick internet search ahead of time helps!

Non-accepted items:

  • Large items that cannot be carried by one person.
  • Items with gasoline engines.
  • Smartphones or tablets.
  • Items needing a full zipper replacement (this repair isn’t available during the event due to time constraints, however some smaller zipper repairs can be done).

The goal of Fix-It Clinics is to reduce the number of items sent to the landfill, help change our mindset about disposing of items that can actually be brought back to life and empower people to be fixers.
