It’s MEA Weekend and for those hanging around Mankato, I dug in a little bit to find some events that just may spark your interest.
Thursday
Thursday evening Twin Rivers and One Bright Star are partnering to present a special exhibition. Seven artists have been paired with seven families who have each lost a child, to capture the essence of their child through an original work of art. The opening reception is at Twin Rivers Council of the Arts on from 5-7 pm and the exhibit runs through November 9th.

Friday
Friday evening swing by the Coffee Hag to catch solo sets by singer-songwriters Stacy K (yours truly) and Minneapolis songwriter Brianna Kocka. The lady songsters play from 7-9 pm, it is for all ages, and you can just wander right on in for free.
Saturday
The Saturday night Mavericks Women’s Hockey game is “pink night” for breast cancer awareness and afterwards there is an open skate with the team! Kind of sounds like a unique experience! Then head to the Wine Cafe to enjoy local band, Watermelon Slush.
Sunday
Sunday takes the cake with The Sunday Art Social happening at Red Rocks from 2-6 pm. As described, “The Sunday Art Social is a collaborative community art experience designed to celebrate our thriving creative community and it’s supporters.”

A few of our featured events include the launch of OmniMatter a monthly pop-up art show, dance + aerial performances, and a fashion show by Vagabond Village. All to music by CNDRM!! This experience will provide a wealth of valuable networking opportunities with Mankato’s creative community. But wait, there’s more! For a full list of participants, see below.
