After acting with the Merely Players over three years in at least ten shows, Lighting Technician, Marshall Quick thinks he’s found his niche. “I love acting but production is a lot less stress,” he said.
Merely Players Community Theatre is wrapping up their 2017-2018 season with a production of Robin Hood written by Larry Blamire.
“It’s a lot of fun, a lot of action!”
With less than two hours until the opening a special showing for the production sponsors, Quick was working out last minute lighting details. He’s proud of the work the Merely Players have done. About Robin Hood, he said, “It’s fun! These actors are very talented! They really put on a good show. Come see it!”
Lyn Vavreck, in her Merely Players directorial debut concurs about the fun. “It’s a lot of fun, a lot of action, a lot of death but no blood!” she explained. “It will be really fun for ages elementary school and up and families and anybody that likes a good show. We have a wonderful, talented cast and a good mix of people that have done Merely Players for years and people who are brand new this year. We have people in the show from eight to fifty-eight!”
You can see the show Friday, May 11th and 18th at 7 pm, Saturday, May 12th and 19th at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 13th and 20th at 2 pm at the Lincoln Community Center in Mankato. Tickets are available on the Merely Players’ website.
