Mankato Area Lions Clubs are planning a 0.6-mile walk as a fundraiser for a youth camp and for diabetes research.
The seventh annual Diabetes Rally is slated for 8:45 a.m. Saturday October 12th at the WOW Zone, 2030 Adams St. Mankato.
Proceeds will go to the Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation and Camp Sweet Life, a local program for children with Type 1 diabetes. Since 2018 the Lion’s diabetes rally has raised over $161,000 to find a cure for Type One Diabetes and support kids that go to camp each summer (Camp Sweet Life Adventures, Inc.)
Barb Evans will be our Guest Speaker at 8:45 a.m. to discuss her experiences as the mother of a child with Type I diabetes.
The walk begins at 9:15 a.m. near the WOW!Zone.
This family-friendly event includes kids’ games, a bounce house, arts and crafts, vendors, information booths and light snacks.
Teams of walkers who raise a $100 will receive a pass for Wow!Zone activities for that day. Registrations will be accepted Saturday morning.
