The ethos of punk music, the power of poetry and the American tradition of protest are the focus of Pageant and Singalong Nation: PUNKS POETS & PROTEST, a one-time, all-ages live music event.
Songs range from Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” to System of a Down’s “Prison Song” to Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi.”
Soloists include Minnesota music scene veteran Jenn Melby-Kelley performing Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” and Colin Scharf performing The Clash’s “Rock the Casbah,” as well as newcomers to public performance.
