The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota Hosting Exciting New Event: Ignite the Night

    July 23rd, 2024

Mankato — The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota (CMSM) invites the community to join in the fun of its new awe-inspiring fundraising event: Ignite the Night on September 20, 2024, presented by Taylor Corporation.

Teams of six adults will come together to unleash their imagination and craftsmanship through PLAY! Sparking their inner child, teams will have 60 minutes to use an array of loose parts to design and build extraordinary pieces. There will be judges and awards for exceptional achievements, including “Plays Well with Others,” “Creative Design,” “Practical Design,” “People’s Choice,” “Top Fundraiser” and “Best Use of Materials.”

Spectators are invited to witness the teams craft their exhibits firsthand, cheering them on as they bring their visions to life. Plus, there will be delicious appetizers and refreshments available for purchase, as well as interactive experiences on the sidelines while teams work.

“Ignite the Night combines creativity with a great cause,” said Jamie Jacobs, Ignite the Night committee chair. “We’re excited to see teams transform loose parts into extraordinary exhibits. Knowing it’s all to support the museum makes the experience even more special.”

“We’re excited to offer sponsorship opportunities for Ignite the Night, allowing businesses like our presenting sponsor Taylor Corporation to be part of this exciting initiative to gain visibility while helping us achieve our fundraising goals,” said Jaci Sprague, Vice President of Development. “As a regional community asset, CMSM values all of our strong community partnerships that support our mission to ignite the natural curiosity of every child through the power of play in a dynamic, awe-inspiring environment.”

Gather your friends and colleagues as we showcase our ingenuity and camaraderie in action for a great cause!
