Mankato, Minn. – The Jimmys bring their “Gotta Have It” tour to Mankato on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Hooligans, 1400 East Madison Avenue (Madison East Center). Bad Liquor Management & The Enablers will open the show with a set starting at 7:00 p.m.
The concert is sponsored by KMSU The Maverick and the Minnesota State Mankato Performance Series with assistance from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
The Jimmys fanbase continues to expand in the upper Midwest, Canada and Europe. The Madison Area Music Awards and the Wisconsin Area Music Awards have recognized and honored The Jimmys with over 20 MAMA and WAMI awards including Blues Artist of the year, Blues Song of the Year, Bassist of the Year, Brass Player of the Year, and Keyboardist of the Year.
In September 2021, the Independent Blues Award Association honored The Jimmys song “Write a Hit” (feat. Marcia Ball) with the 2021 IBA Contemporary Blues Song of the year award.
The “Big Band” version of Bad Liquor Management only comes together under unique circumstances. The group is led by Kit Kildahl (guitar, vocals) and Josh Gravelin (bass, high harmony vocals). The group also features Erik Koskinen (guitar, vocals), Lars Larson (drums), Dale “Hawk” Haefner (piano and keyboards), Steve “Boom Boom” Vonderhar (harmonica, vocals), and Scott Fultz (saxophone). Members of the group have performed with an impressive list of national heavy hitters on concert stages and network television. The group features four Minnesota Music Hall of Famers.
