Art for Stress Relief Among Winter Classes at the Arts Center of Saint Peter

    January 27th, 2025

Saint Peter — Lunchtime Art with ARK, a series of 45-minute midday art-making experiences designed for adults who struggle to maintain a personal creative practice, is among the winter class offerings beginning Wednesday, February 5 at the Arts Center of Saint Peter.

ARK (Abigail Kimble), a Mankato-based artist who is also the Arts Center’s gallerist, will guide participants through explorations of various visual art materials and techniques with an emphasis on stress relief, self-expression, and enjoyment of the process. Lunchtime Art with ARK requires advance registration at artscentersp.org, or through St. Peter Community and Family Education.

Also among the Arts Center’s winter class offerings are Make A Four-Piece Dinnerware Set with Kolleen Jenne, a class for those new to clay as well as potters seeking to hone their hand-building skills; Visible Mending with Whitney Dirks, an exploration of various hand-sewing techniques to repair and embellish clothing and other textiles; and Intro to Sewing and Beginner Alterations, both with Bianca Wilson. Classes require advance registration at artscentersp.org or through St. Peter Community and Family Education.

The Arts Center’s 2025 education programs are made possible by a $35,000 Arts Education grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, the largest single-year grant in the Arts Center’s 46-year history.
