Celebrating public art and history, the Mni Mural adorns the flood wall in downtown Mankato.
A team of local artists collaborated to design and paint their ideas of what the river might have looked like before the city was established. The mural offers 500 feet of landscape and representations of native fishes.
Meaning “water” in the Dakota language, Mni is an apt name for the project. The mural is located just a few steps away from Reconciliation Park and the Minnesota River Trail.
