MANKATO – GreenSeam is inviting individuals and organizations across Minnesota whose work connects to food and agriculture to participate in the State of the Agricultural Ecosystem survey, a statewide effort that informs the annual State of the Agricultural Ecosystem Report.

The survey collects input from businesses and professionals to better understand economic conditions, workforce needs, and operational trends across Minnesota’s agriculture-related industries. Responses are analyzed and compiled into a report used by industry leaders, educators, and policymakers to guide decision-making and align resources across the state.

In partnership with Minnesota State University, Mankato, GreenSeam is facilitating the survey and hosting focus groups in communities throughout the region to ensure a broad and representative view of Minnesota’s agricultural economy.

Originally launched in 2020 as the State of Agriculture Report, the initiative was created to address a lack of comprehensive data on Minnesota’s agribusiness landscape. As the study expanded, it was renamed the State of the Agricultural Ecosystem Report to better reflect the interconnected network of businesses and services that support agriculture. This ecosystem spans manufacturing, logistics, research, professional services, and skilled trades, forming a critical pillar of Minnesota’s economy rooted in rural communities and driving growth statewide.

Participation is encouraged from organizations across the agricultural ecosystem, including businesses involved in production, processing, manufacturing, energy, workforce development, education, research, and public or nonprofit services.

The anonymous survey takes approximately nine minutes to complete and is open through February 13, 2026. Findings will be compiled into the State of the Agricultural Ecosystem Report, which will be shared during a report release event on March 24, National Ag Day.
