MANKATO — Individuals and families throughout the region are invited to the annual Project Community Connect free community resource event from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato.
More than 80 regional service providers will be on hand to provide resources and information. The goal of Project Community Connect is to reduce poverty and homelessness by providing access to many resources all in one place, including housing, employment, disability, food, legal and more.
In past years, several hundred guests from the nine-county region attended.
Free bag lunch provided. Other free offerings include haircuts, hygiene/household items and government ID vouchers while supplies last. Attendees can also visit the Shoe Bus. Shoes cost $2 to $5, with a limited number of free shoe vouchers available.
Free childcare services are available during the event. City of Mankato will provide free transit rides.
