Mandalas have been used throughout many cultures to increase mindfulness and foster relaxation. As we draw them, our minds fall into the simple patterns and rhythm of creativity which means we can more easily reach a meditative state. Art therapists and psychologists recommend this technique to reduce stress and increase mindfulness. Markus can attest to this, as he’s relied on them as a tool for coping with mental illness and chronic pain. This class was created so that he can share mandala-making skills and allow others to benefit from the meditative effect of this simple process.
This class is beginner-friendly and will include a live demonstration, practice sheet, and a step-by-step instruction packet. The process will start with blank paper and walk through the completed project, a black mandala brought to life by a simple and stunning watercolor effect. All supplies are included and have been purposefully selected to be affordable and accessible so that the process is something that can be recreated at home. By learning to draw mandalas in this class you will have a foundation of knowledge and be able to continue learning to create mandalas on your own.
