It’s warming up and I can’t tell if I’m sick or have allergies but the sunshine and even the rainfall has been keeping my spirits up.
This weekend is full of some great bands playing in town. Friday night you could get your fill of good music, starting at the Wine Cafe at 5 pm with The Lost Walleye, an eclectic, semi-acoustic, four-piece group including harmonica, guitar, bass, and piano. The Lost Walleye is a sampling of country, blues, and Americana with a ton of vocals.
Later that evening the NaKato will be feeling muddy with slide guitar blues player Mike Munson. He is a one man show to see for sure. I was able to catch a set of his at Art-a-Whirl in Minneapolis and loved it. He’ll be playing the Nakato with special guest Mikkel Beckmen, starting at 9 pm.
Same night but at the Mankato Brewery — Church of Cash. You could try to get lucky and get in, but I’m fairly certain this show is sold out. Darn it!
Let the weekend roll around one of the sure signs of spring — The Hub Food Park Season Opener! Nothing says warm weather like being able to enjoy a meal outdoors! The Hub Food Park Season Opener is on May 1st from 11 am -2 pm. Four seriously amazing food trucks will be at the opener
Also on May 1st, The Hub will be hosting a Student Pop-Up Store!
Be sure to keep The Hub Food Park on your radar, there are a lot of fun events coming up, like May the 4th Be With You — an event partnering with The Dork Den with, you guessed it, a Star Wars theme. I’ll be sure to bring you all the details next week.
